Open Question: Are they any nice, inexpensive venues to get married at in NH?
My fiance and I live in NH and are looking to get married in December, or next February. We would prefer to either get married in the mountains, or by the lake or beach but it’s not a must have. All of the places we have seen are really expensive (almost $100 per person plus $2500 for the room fee) and we don’t want to spend that much because in the end, that’s money we could spend towards a house or something. The cheapest we have found is at Castle in the Clouds (which was our first pick anyways) but it is still $55 per person, and $2500 room fee.

We are looking into both plated dinners, and buffet dinners. We would love to just get a caterer (since they are often cheaper) but we can’t find a hall that doesn’t require you order food from their restaurant/chef/caterer. If anyone has every been to a wedding in NH, or has had one here and knows of any places to go I would appreciate it. We are looking for around $30-$40 per person if possible. Thanks!

Open Question: getting married in july any suggestions on what type of dress i should buy (outdoor wedding)?
We are getting married at my soon to be father in-laws house on his dock the grass stays wet because of the lake and we don’t plan on putting carpet rug runner things down because they are expensive. my sister had an outdoor wedding and she ruined her dress with grass stains and i don’t want to buy a wedding dress that will get ruined so, i was thinking about a shorter dress if i do a short dress i would like it to look sort of 1920’s-1950’s looking but i cant seem to find one. i plan on spending 500 or (hopefully) less on a dress. with our wedding being july 4th i can do red white or blue for a dress. my parents think i am crazy for having a simple cheap wedding in a backyard but its what fits in our budget and our personalities. i personally just wanted to get married at a court house and skip the wedding ceremony. but family members are making us have an actual wedding.

Resolved Question: How do I convince my parents not to move?
I’m in 8th grade, I have 2 sisters in 7th and 6th grade. We all have amazing lives here on Long Island, New York. We have our friends and our sports. But of course my parents want to move again. In 5th grade, I moved to North Carolina from here, but after 5 months we moved back because we couldn’t sell our house in NY. We moved there for absolutely no reason in the first place, just because they thought it was a little nicer. Now they want to move again, it’s all they talk about and I cry everyday because they won’t stop. They want to move back to where we used to live in North Carolina or a part in Florida. They try to convince me to want to move there by saying “Oh we could live in a beautiful mansion with a huge pool and we could go out to the lake so much more because it’s so much warmer and you would be the IT girl there” and I keep on telling them I don’t care I love it here and I cry even thinking about leaving. I actually am crying as I type this. I tell them I don’t want to leave because of my friends here and how much fun I have and the food and the area. They tell me I would make sooo many friends there, but they don’t understand they aren’t MY friends there, I have fun with MY friends not people in Florida. Plus the reason they want to move is because it’s warmer there and it’s cheaper. My dad has a GREAT job here and we can afford things and we already have a huge pool. My sister is on a competition cheerleading team, my other sister just got into lacrosse, I’m in an all-county chorus that is SO hard to get into, I’m already chosen as the spring track and field captain, my grades are pretty good, I’m in the middle of making my confirmation, my house was just under construction and now it’s gorgeous, I have friends and have so much fun with them. I just don’t know what I would ever do with myself if I had to leave this all.
these answers made me cry more.

FriendFeed I’m thinking about a surprise vacation for my husband when he’s on his mid-tour leave this summer. We live in Illinois and I’d like to go somewhere that is either a cheap, short flight away or within driving distance. We’re not into a big nightlife, but he’s a home brewer and enjoys visiting brew pubs. We do like being outdoors, but aren’t into
